Forum of Women Lawmakers proposes quota for female parliamentarians.

The Forum of Women Parliamentarians has proposed to create a quota for the appointment of female parliamentarians to the positions of speaker or deputy speaker, and to include a new quota to include women in decision-making institutions, including the commissions and the constitutional council established by the twenty-second constitutional amendment.

Parliamentarians recently pointed out to the Speaker that these amendments should be made.

The above issues were discussed at length when the Women Parliamentarians Forum met recently (06) under the chairmanship of Dr. Sudarshanee Fernandopulle, Member of Parliament, expert.
