A meeting between the National Election Commission and election monitoring organizations is scheduled to be held next Wednesday.
Mr. Rohana Hettiarachchi, Executive Director of PAFRAL, said that it will be the first meeting between the monitoring organizations and the Commission after the announcement of the election.
There will be discussions on election law, how to conduct elections and gazette announcements.
Meanwhile, election monitoring organizations have decided to take legal action within the next few days against the postponement of the local government elections.
Mr. Rohana Hettiarachchi, the Executive Director of PAFRAL Organization, stated that the observation organizations are appearing as intermediate petitioners in the petition submitted by a petitioner to the Supreme Court requesting that all the organizational activities carried out for the conduct of the local government election be invalidated and a writ be issued.
