The Election Commission requests 770 million from the Ministry of Finance to cover the costs of the February expenses! Previously sent letters had received money!

The Election Commission has sent a letter to the Ministry of Finance requesting 770 million rupees for the work related to the February local government election.

Its chairman Mr. Lawyer Nimal Punchihewa mentioned that the relevant letter was forwarded to the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.

The chairman also stated that money was released in relation to the requests made earlier to the Ministry of Finance for election expenses.

It is estimated that an amount of 10 billion rupees will be spent for the local government elections, and the parliament recently approved the allocation of that amount from this year’s budget.
