The central bank’s outstanding debt has increased significantly since the end of 2021.

The central bank’s outstanding debt has increased significantly at the end of 2022 compared to the end of 2021, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka said.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka further states that the total outstanding debt stock of the central government, in nominal terms, has increased by 56.1 percent from 17,614.2 billion rupees at the end of 2021 to 27,492.0 billion rupees by the end of 2022.
