President should entrust Daladamaligawa, Mihintale, Kataragama, and temples in Anuradapura, funds to audit under Budhist Affairs Ministry -Vanavasi Rahula Thero I Sri Lanka Latest News

Namal Uyana’s founder Vanusi Rahula Thero says that they know that Mihintale Thero, who has become the main actor in the media at the moment, does not have money. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

He suggests to the President to audit the income of places of worship such as Mihinthala, Anuradhapura, Dalada Maligawa, Kataragama and put the temples under the Commissioner of Buddhist Affairs and launch a specific program for the advancement of the Shasana, in order to protect the temples in remote villages where there is no alms.

Vanavasi Rahula Thero said this today (01) while joining the foundation stone laying ceremony for the preservation of Chaityaraja at the historical Kaudagala Aranya Senasana.

A large number of people, including Honorable Maha Sangharatna and former Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath, attended the foundation stone laying ceremony as per the advice of Devagala Pannaseeha Nayaka, Kaudagala Aranya Senasanadhipa  Thero.

The founder of the National Namal Garden, Vanusi Rahula Thero, who addressed the people present, also said:

I have no personal grudge with Mihintale Thero. I am not attacking him personally. Mihintala earns crores despite saying that there is no money. Anuradhapura Budhist temples,  Dalada Maligawa, Kataragama gets money. Foreigners come and give bundles of dollars to them.

But no one from these big temples come forward to put a thousand rupees on a cement bag for this kind of temples.

I suggest to the current President to audit the money received by these temples and hand it over to the Commissioner of Buddhist Affairs and form a committee in this regard. Only President Ranil Wickremesinghe can do that. There are crooked thieves in this government too. That’s why I request the current president to bring in the temple act, bring in the union court act, and entrust the Buddhist affairs commissioner with the income received by these temples utilise them in a proper manner.

This is a difficult task. Questions arise. I think only the current president can do this.
