According to Mihintala Nayak Thero, the new electricity connection given to the historical Mihintala shrine for Poson festival has been removed by order of the Chairman of the Electricity Board.
According to Mihintala vihara chief Venerable Valahangunavewe Dhammarathana Nayaka Thero, the new electricity connection that was arranged to be provided to the area of the historic Mihintala Raja Maha Vihara for this year’s Poson festival has been removed by order of the Chairman of the Electricity Board.
Nayaka Thero says that the electricity board has always contributed 50% to lighting the historic Mihintala shrine during the Poson festival and it is a problem for the electricity board not to provide the same contribution to the Poson festival this time.
