Over 3kg of Kush cannabis sent from the United States and Australia is seized by customs.

Following an inspection of ten unclaimed parcels sent from abroad to Sri Lankan addresses, officers of Sri Lanka Customs at the Central Mail Exchange seized a stock of Kush cannabis with an estimated street value of around Rs. 34.75 million.

The 3.475 kilogrammes of Kush Cannabis had been packed in 10 parcels and sent to addresses in Boralesgamuwa, Wellawatte, Minuwangoda, Welisara, Nuwara Eliya, and Thalangama from the United States and Australia.

According to Sri Lanka Customs, the cannabis stock is estimated to be worth around Rs. 34.75 million.

Since their owners had not come forward to collect the parcels, the relevant parcels were inspected by customs officers on May 16, in the presence of officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) and the Postal Department.

This Kush marijuana was discovered during relevant inspections and turned over to the PNB for further investigation.
