No dollars to pay crude oil ship at sea for 8 days ! Day’s demurrage $ 75,000

It is reported that a ship containing one lakh metric tons of crude oil has been achored in the Sri Lankan waters for 08 days without being able to pay to clear the ship load.

This ship belonging to the Ural Company arrived in Sri Lanka on August 23rd and due to the inability to pay the it is still at sea. It has to pay US$ 75,000 per day as late fees, according to oil company sources.

This Ural has arrived instead of the 128,000 metric tons of crude oil that was supposed to be brought to Sri Lanka by the Coral Energy Company.

The sources claim that 52 percent black oil, 21 percent diesel and 12 percent gasoline will be obtained during the crude oil refining of this Ural ship.

The sources further claim that due to the increase in the density of this crude oil, the safety of the refinery is threatened by going to the refinery, which is more than 50 years old.
