Mudali’s younger brother, who visited him in prison, posted a touching Facebook message.

Anura Mudalige, who has gone to meet Wasantha Mudalige, the convener of the Inter-University Student Union, who is being arrested, held, and interrogated under the Terrorism Act, has posted a note on his Facebook account.

According to the note he left yesterday (04), his brother requested him to notify his friends that he is in good health and is not depressed as a result of the persecution.

Wasanta Mudalige had told his brother about being blindfolded and taken to many locations, including Basil Rajapaksa’s mansion in Malwane.

Anura, Wasantha’s brother, posted the following on his Facebook page.

This is a note to inform everyone on the present situation of convener Wasantha Mudali, who has been taken to see Basil’s house in Malwane as well as a few other locations.

I went to see my brother at the old navy base in Tangalle yesterday (2022.10.03). He assured everyone of his good health. And certainly not depressed. Wasantha went on to say that the government is constantly intervening in various ways.

Regarding the Malwane event, my brother had a precise response. During the first week of his arrest, he was carried at night to the area claimed to be Basil’s.

It was stated that he was transported to another location in Nawagamuwa, a location in the Kadavata area, and numerous locations in the Gampaha area, with his face covered and taken very quietly and interrogated.

Even though it happened some time ago, Wasantha was clearly escorted to the burned house in order to introduce evidence from outside and utilise it against the student leaders very skillfully.
