The Ministry of Health has banned the display of black flags in government hospitals and medical institutions.
In a circular, the ministry has said that displaying black flags can endanger the mental state of patients and staff.
The ministry points out that it has been observed that certain professional measures are hindering the process of treating patients and saving lives in the current socio-economic situation.
A spokesman for the Association of Government Medical Officers said a decision would be made on Tuesday on how to respond to the move.
