Female judges and attorneys can now appear in court wearing skirts and trousers.

In the future, female judges and lawyers will be allowed to wear skirts and blouses or trousers to court.
The new dress code was implemented with the publication of amendments to the Supreme Court rules this week.
As a result, wear black trousers with a white blouse, a black coat, and black shoes, or a black skirt with a white blouse, a black coat, and black shoes.

So far, only white, black, off-white, grey, or mauve sarees and jackets have been permitted. The trouser length should be up to the ankle, while the skirt length should be below the knee when seated, according to the new dress code. A high-necked, long-sleeved shirt or blouse is required.

The male judges’ and lawyers’ dress code remains unchanged.
