University administration say the final year engineering faculty student has died of an overdose of drugs.
The student died this morning (01) after the other students saw that she was suffering from some illness in the Peradeniya University Malalasekara dormitory where she was staying last night (28th) and was admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital.
The Peradeniya University Governing Authority says that the dead student is Vinodi De Silva, a resident of Kurunegala, and she has been receiving treatment for stress for some time.
