According to the Ministry of Health, the number of Covid-infected people in Sri Lanka has increased significantly.Yesterday (20), 62 people infected with Covid-19 were identified across the country, according to the ministry.
Dr. Samitha Gini, Chief Epidemiologist, has warned that there has been a significant increase in Covid-19 cases in the last two weeks.He went on to say that the data showed that those who had been vaccinated were better protected against the virus than those who had not.
Meanwhile, the Association of Public Health Inspectors has stated that Covid-19 testing will no longer be performed in several areas as previously.
Therefore, the actual number of Covid-19 cases in Sri Lanka may be significantly higher than the number quoted by the Ministry of Health, the association said.
