Consumer cry against high price of food!

According to the public of Sri Lanka present price of daily consumable food items has sky rocketed beyond their reach. They note with utter despair the market price of an egg is around 60 rupees.

Exorbitant prices charged in the shops and supper market for an egg ranges between 55 and 60 rupees, according to them.

Consumers note that a pack of ten eggs costs between 660 and 680 rupees in supermarkets.

Aside from that, consumers claim that the price of chicken meat too has skyrocketed.

They state that a kilo of chicken meat costs between 1300 and 1350 rupees.

According to producers, the increase in the price of chicken feed has resulted in a significant increase in the price of eggs and chicken meat.
