The victims of the crime were Mohammad Iqbal Mohammad Azhar (26) and Mohammad Anwar Mohammad Arfat (28), residents of Mawanella, Kiringadeniya and Keraminiwatta areas.

These youths are detained and beaten, and they are cut with sharp weapons and tortured by spraying salt powder and antiseptic liquid on the wounds and killed by a local drug dealer named Farhan in Hurimaluwa.

There was a person who witnessed the killing of these youths after torturing for three days. He is also a tortured person who is about to be killed. But he escaped some how.

Murderer Farhan had tortured and killed these two youths in a room of his house, wrapped the bodies in polythene and buried them behind his house. Then he arranged to cover the buried place with concrete.

The police say that the two youths who were killed were heroin addicts.

A police constable of the Kegalle Division Crime Bureau received the first information regarding the brutal killing of the two. He had received information from a person that he had seen two youths being killed in the house of Farhan, a drug dealer named Hurimaluwa in Rambukkana Hurimaluwa area.

He had also said that he saw the two youths being buried behind the house after they were killed.

The drug smuggler also attacked the person who gave the information. He is also destined to die.

I was hit hard. While beating me, these two young men were imprisoned in a room of that house. Cut by weapons. Then salt powder was applied to the wounds. Disinfectant water was added. I have seen with my own two eyes the suffering of those two boys. He told the police.

The police said that Mohammad Anwar Mohammad Arfat, a young man, was tortured for three days. But he said that the first to die was 26-year-old Mohammad Iqbal Mohammad Azhar.

On the instructions of the Assistant Superintendent of Police Pradeep Weerasekera of the Kegalle Division Crime Bureau in this regard, its Station Commander Police Inspector Apsara Abeygunasekara has conducted further investigations and has managed to reveal many important information.

According to the information, the two youths are addicted to heroin. Last November, when there was a shortage of heroin in the country, they went to this drug dealer’s house to buy ice.

The reason for the murder was a dispute between the 28-year-old brother of the deceased and this drug dealer Arfan. There was a conflict related to that person taking drugs from a drug dealer named Farhan in Hurimaluwa and not giving money. A problem has arisen between this young man who went home in search of ice and Farhan, the robber, about the drugs that one of the young man’s brothers avoided without paying.

In this regard, the exchange of words between the young man and the drug trafficker led to an argument and both of them were caught by the trafficker.

It has now been revealed that these two youths were killed as an extension of drug trafficking that had nothing to do with them, revealing the brutality of the drug trade that extended to the local level.

Arfan has also suspected that these two youths, whom he found to buy drugs, are informers about him to the police. Investigations also say that they are killed every ten days for that reason.

After the police reported the facts to the court regarding the incident, Kegalle Magistrate Vasana Navaratne along with expert forensic doctors from the Kegalle General Hospital inspected the rear part of the drug trafficker’s house yesterday (12).

After that, a concrete floor was laid at the back of the house and an excavation was carried out by the police in a place prepared for setting up a chicken coop.

As a result, a dead body was found on the afternoon of the 12th and the police believe that it belongs to 26-year-old Mohammad Iqbal Mohammad Azhar.

The investigating officers who excavated it yesterday were able to find the other dead body through a part like a dona.

The police say that it is suspected to be the body of 28-year-old Mohammad Anwar Mohammad Arfat.

The police found polythene paper which were said to have been used to wrap the bodies of the deceased youths in the house of the suspect.

Four main suspects, including Farhan of Hurimaluwe, involved in the incident, have fled the area by now.

The police are investigating the killers.
