According to its chairman Mr. Janaka Rathnayake, two of the members of the Public Utility Commission have notified two of their members to withdraw from the case filed before the Court of Appeal.
In a press conference Mr. Janaka Ratnayake mentioned that the political pressure has affected the decision.
Janaka Ratnayake, chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, said in a press conference today that two members of the commission, Chathurika Wijesinghe and newly appointed Douglas Nanayakkara, have been informed in writing to withdraw the case.
However, he said that the unanimous decision of the Public Utilities Commission to prosecute will not be withdrawn, regardless of political influence.
