Chinese high-tech research in Sri Lanka. According to Indian Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, India is well prepared to face any challenge that may arise as a result of allowing a ship to dock in its waters.

Meanwhile, the minister stated that the relevant departments are strongly committed to developing the Indian coast as a counter-shipping centre, referring to the Indian cargo ships that rely on the port of Colombo, which serves as a counter-shipping centre on the east coast.

Furthermore, the Minister stated that we have already begun developing infrastructure at Paradeep Port, Visakhapatnam Port, and Chennai Port, and there are plans to develop infrastructure at Tuticorin Port as well, according to the Times of India.

However, the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has arranged for the Yuan Wang 5 hi-tech ship to remain at the Hambantota port from tomorrow (16th) to the 22nd in order to obtain the necessary navigational facilities.
