Supreme Court has requested documents from the Attorney General in connection with the Royal Park murderers’ presidential pardon case.

The Supreme Court has informed the Attorney General to present to the court the document containing the decision of the then President Maithripala Sirisena to pardon and release Jude Shramanta Jayamaha who was sentenced to death in connection with the Royal Park murder case.

The order was issued by the Supreme Court bench yesterday (30) when a fundamental rights petition filed by the Union of Women’s Media Organizations was heard requesting the annulment of the presidential pardon granted to the accused.

S. The petition hearing was held before the three-member Supreme Court bench consisting of Messrs. Thureiraja, Yasanta Kodagoda and Janak de Silva.
