Kandy Divisional Senior Superintendent of Police has taken steps to transfer all other officers to other police stations and units with immediate effect, except for the OIC of the Various Complaints Division of the Kandy Headquarters Police and two sergeants who are involved in judicial affairs.
The relevant decision is taken based on the complaints that the desired public service is not being received from the various complaints department in Kandy.
A police inspector and five sub-inspectors are among the nearly forty transferred people.
The OIC of Miscellaneous Complaints Division has recently joined the division and considering that, he has not been included in the transferred team.
Since the transfer of the two officers involved in judicial affairs will disrupt the work, they have been temporarily assigned to work in the various complaints department.
