Travel ban on Cabraal extended

The travel ban imposed on former Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal has been extended.

The travel ban was extended today by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court until October 26th, 2022.

The court initially issued an order preventing Cabraal from leaving the country in April 2022.

Following that, the former Central Bank Governor’s travel ban was repeatedly extended.

The travel ban was imposed after former Governor Keerthi Tennakooon filed a complaint accusing Cabraal of misusing public funds while serving as Governor of the CBSL.
