Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa made a unique disclosure in Parliament that the country has lost more than 100 billion rupees in tax revenue by getting tax concessions from businessmen who are protected by politicians.
He also mentioned that over 100 billion tax concessions have been given to the owner of the Dubai Marriott Hotel, who bought the rigid tire factory, Ceylon Steel Corporation.
He pointed out that a parliamentary committee should be appointed to investigate these.
