Three ministers’ overseas trips rejected ahead of the parliament’s vote on the removal of the PUC chairman.

At the cabinet meeting held last Monday, President Ranil Wickramasinghe has rejected the request of three ministers to go abroad.

The reason for this is that on the 24th, a poll is scheduled to be held for the proposal submitted to the Parliament to remove the chairman of the Utilities Commission, Mr. Janaka Ratnayake from that position.

Accordingly, the President has informed that all the Deputy Ministers should participate in the polling on that day.

Ministers Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, Bandula Gunawardena and Keheliya Rambukwella have requested permission to go abroad.
