This morning, two million Indian eggs were cleared! Large-scale bakery producers will benefit!

The first consignment of eggs imported to Sri Lanka from India has reached the island.

Mr. T. A. D. Ranjith, Director of state trading (General) Corporation, stated that the concerned egg stock reached the island this morning.

In order to control the price of eggs in this country, the government decided to import eggs from India.

The State trading Corporation stated that accordingly, 2 million eggs have been imported as the first stock of eggs.

After the investigations carried out by the Ministry of Health regarding the stock of eggs brought to the island, they are scheduled to be released.

The Ministry of Trade mentioned that these imported eggs are planned to be given to the producers of bakery related industry products at a subsidized price.
