The verdict in the Easter attack case will be announced on the 12th! 

The Supreme Court informs that on the 12th, the decision of the fundamental rights petitions filed against former President Maithripala Sirisena and others, alleging that their basic human rights were violated by not taking action to prevent a terrorist attack on Easter Sunday despite receiving sufficient intelligence information.

The decision is to be announced by the seven-member Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya.

12 petitions were filed by several parties, including the Sri Lanka Bar Association, the victims of the attack, and the Catholic Fathers.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena, former Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara, former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and others have been named as respondents.
