According to reports, the Sri Lankan government has objected to the allocation of US$ 3.4 million (1.2 billion rupees) to implement the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution in Geneva on reconciliation, accountability, and the promotion of human rights in Sri Lanka.
The government is also said to have taken steps to reject it.
This is part of the proposed programme for 2023 to support the implementation of United Nations Human Rights Council resolutions and decisions concerning various countries. discussed in the United Nations General Assembly’s Fifth Committee, which is in charge of administrative and budgetary matters.
