The Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Mr. Martin Changong, is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka on the 11th.
It is reported that Mr. Changgong is scheduled to come to Sri Lanka based on a number of issues including the strengthening of parliamentary democracy in Sri Lanka.
It is learned that he has planned to meet high level representatives of the government as well as representatives of the opposition during this visit.
In recent past , many complaints about the violation of the privileges of the members of parliament were submitted to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
