The Rajapakse family feud has resurfaced! Shashindra discards the scarf !

When the 22nd amendment was presented to Parliament, the family feud that had been brewing for some time within the Rajapaksa clan became visible to the general public for the first time.

There was a clause that prevented Mr. Basil Rajapaksa from entering the Parliament, and it included a clause that dual citizens could not hold the positions of MPs. Chamal Rajapaksa, Shashindra Rajapaksa, and Namal Rajapaksa voted in favour of the clause.

But Mahinda Rajapaksa did not vote for it.

On the other hand, the media stated that there was a political altercation between Mr. Basil Rajapaksa and Mr. Chamal Rajapaksa.

Against this backdrop, Mr. Shashindra Rajapaksa, son of Mr. Chamal Rajapaksa, who had been wearing the Kurahan headscarf throughout his political travels, came to Parliament today for the first time without the Kurahan headscarf. This was the first time that Mr. Shashindra Rajapaksa had been seen in public without the headscarf.

Instead, he was dressed in western garb and made an appearance in parliament.

In this regard, a great number of people who are opposed to the government have voiced their opinions and told their friends that the conflict within the Rajapaksa family can be seen through this.

Mr. Shashindra Rajapaksa was given a kurahan scarf by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

2009 was the year that Shashindra first became involved in politics, and that same year he was elected to the position of Chief Minister of Uva.
