Public Security Minister Tiran Alas has told Lankadeepa that Southern Province Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana has been transferred according to the regular procedure.
The minister said that seven senior DIGs including Mr. Ajith Rohana have been transferred subject to the full coverage approval of the National Police Commission.
Mr. Tiran Alas has questioned whether he was transferred to the Southern Province according to the above method and how Mr. Ajith Rohana, who went to the Southern Province at that time, was transferred to the Eastern Province under the same method and refused it.
The Minister of Public Security said that it is a problematic matter that only Mr. Ajith Rohana refused the transfer at a time when many senior police officers have been transferred on the basis of service requirements, and the government has given special attention to it.
However, police sources say that all the attention of the police is focused on who will win this fight.
