Lawlessness abounds! Shouldn’t we be ashamed of ourselves

Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said, those identified as the perpetrators of the Easter Sunday terror attack are still involved in political activities and hold positions in the police. The archbishops who stated currently there is no law and no room for law in the country as well, as lawlessness predominant, he noted that the country should be ashamed in front of the world in this regard.


According to the cardinal, the country claim about the powerful legal system it possesses , but despite the count less requests made to conduct an independent investigation into the Easter Sunday attack and prosecute those found guilty, the country’s law did nothing.


The Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, made these remarks while attending the Mangala Maha Divya Puja Yaga, which was held today (31) to commemorate the Church of Saint Santiago the Great’s 150th anniversary.

The archbishops stated that the country has fallen into an abyss and been destroyed as a result of people greedy for power and wealth. People suffer because of this and thy have placed in a miserable position and believe they suffer due to their own stupidity.
