The opposition common unity executive committee met in parliament! Sajith explained economic vision that rejects extreme capitalism, lumpen socialism, crony capitalism, and extreme socialist viewpoint.

The opposition leader said that according to the economic vision of the United People’s Force in general, they reject extreme capitalism, lumpen capitalism and crony capitalism and in addition, they do not have the extreme socialist view that everything should be done by the state and the government should do business.

According to that, the option that the country currently has is the middle path or the third path. In that option, private entrepreneurship, social market economy and demand supply can be done by private entrepreneurship, but the distribution of the generated wealth in the society is done by private entrepreneurship. Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa said that it is not possible and for that, government intervention is needed to distribute resources according to social justice.

The leader of the opposition said this when the executive committee of the opposition’s general unity, which was established with the aim of establishing a common consensus on issues affecting the country as a whole, met in Parliament today.

The opposition leader further emphasized that Samagi Jana Balawega is actually in the economic vision of the middle way and because a government alone cannot generate money there, humane capitalism is necessary and it must be fair and everyone must win through it.

The opposition leader said that when special matters like the Central Bank Act are discussed through the committees, we should go for this middle way or a mixed economic system that establishes social justice, and we should proceed through private entrepreneurship and the social market economy, and through that we should strengthen the country.
