Anuradhapura Swarnamali Chaityaramadhikari, Chief Sanghanayaka Shastrapati of Kandy Kalauiya, Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Nehemiah, has been appointed to the position of Anuradhapura Atamasthandhi, which was vacant due to the death of the former Atamasthan, Dr. Rev. Pallegama Sirinivasa.
According to the unanimous decision of the Atamasthan Committee, he is scheduled to take up the post on the 11th.
In an announcement to the media, Abhinava Atamasthanapitha Thera stated that he will take charge of his office very gracefully, giving priority to religious ceremonies, and that no politicians or other dignitaries will be invited to the occasion.
