The minister claims no power outage! PUC claims there will be a massive one!: who is lying will be revealed on January 2nd

According to the Public Utilities Commission, all of the country’s coal stocks will be depleted by January 2nd, and if a coal ship does not arrive before then, there will be a massive power outage.

According to the commission’s chairman, Mr. Janaka Ratnayake, 7,500 metric tonnes of coal per day are required to fully operate the plant.

He also stated that the plant’s existing coal reserves will be depleted on January 2nd due to the operation of two generators.

He stated that even if the next ship arrives at Norochchola, it will take about five days to unload the coal, so the plant will be shut down from January 2nd until the coal is unloaded.

Minister Kanchana Wijesekera, on the other hand, claims that there will be no power outage.
