The latest audit report on LITRO gas company reveals exorbitant salary and entertainment allowance increases I Sri Lanka Latest News

The audit has revealed that the chairman, sales director and twenty officers of the Litro Gas Lanka Company were given staff vehicle loans of 127.06 million rupees without any interest amount (at zero interest rate) in the years 2020 and 2021.

According to the National Audit Office, a monthly entertainment allowance of Rs.150,000 and Rs.100,000 was paid to the chairman and sales director respectively.

Also, in the month of September 2020, an employment-related vehicle loan amount of 251 million rupees has been given to 33 officers of the company at a zero interest rate.

And the company’s J.G. The monthly vehicle allowance has been increased by 30 percent for 27 Group 15 officers with effect from August 2020. New vehicle monthly allowance increased from Rs.143,000 to Rs.443,300

According to the audit report, the company has made a salary revision based on the current salary as of 31st December 2020, and accordingly, the new salary of the company’s staff is between 32,972 rupees and 1,610,000 rupees.

The management of the company has also mentioned to the audit that allowances are paid in accordance with the company car policy approved by the board of directors of the company.

It has been mentioned to the audit that the company has duly informed the relevant ministry and the Public Enterprises Department about these offers.

Mr. Anil Koswatta was the chairman of Litro Company during this period.

Mr. Koswatta is still a member of the Board of Directors of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.
