The HRC staff staged a silent protest against three commissioners I Sri Lanka Latest News

Yesterday (26) afternoon, the staff of the Human Rights commission engaged in a silent protest in front of the office against three of the commissioners. They allege of behaving in appropriately in a way that is harmful to the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission.

A spokesperson said that these three commissioners are working against the actions of the current chairperson and are working to remove her, while there are ways to resolve the internal issues of the commission through discussions, but airing this in a  press conference is damaging the dignity of the commission.

The sources also state that the staff has made a request for a discussion about some information released to the media which they have rejected and resort to an argument with the staff
