The government is unsure, but an Indian newspaper claims that we will receive the IMF facility in March.

The Hindustan Times newspaper mentions that the loan money proposed to be given by the International Monetary Fund cannot be obtained before the end of this year, and it will be delayed until next March.

According to the report, the main reason for this is that China did not give enough time to the negotiations regarding the debt restructuring necessary to implement the loan program from the International Monetary Fund.

China is currently focused on the annual conference of the Chinese Communist Party, so they have not allocated significant time to focus on Sri Lanka’s debt issue.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe also said this at a conference held in Colombo recently.

Based on this situation, some certainty has emerged for the loan program that Sri Lanka is hoping to implement with the International Monetary Fund.
