The Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a man posed himself as a thero and stayed at a temple in Mahiyangana after staying at the five star hotel in Colombo Fort area for 18 days without paying an amount of 527,820 rupees.
The concerned Monk has come to the five star hotel on August 31st and said that he wanted to stay there and stayed there for 18 days.
Then he was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to a sudden illness and he informed the hotel that he would pay the relevant amount.
But as he returned to his temple without paying the hotel bill after receiving treatment, the management authority of the hotel has complained to the Criminal Investigation Department about the incident.
