Speaker Mahinda yapa Abeyawardana stated that his response to the National Election Commission’s letter requesting intervention to provide funds for the local government election will be forwarded to the finance minister.
Speaker stated that he received the relevant letter on Friday.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena stated that the recalling of government servants who have submitted nominations to contest in the Local Government election will be decided after the NEC statement, which is scheduled to be made on March 3rd.
