SL officials seize foreigner passport for supporting ‘GotaGoGama’ protest

Sri Lankan immigration officials have seized the Passport of a foreigner who had supported Public protests, for violating visa conditions.

She has been informed to report to the Immigration Department for an inquiry within 7 days.

“Irresponsible of a govt to mishandle issues like this, just as #SriLanka is hoping for a good tourist season. To @RW_UNP, every problem is a nail and the solution is a hammer. Will end up placing our nation in further turmoil.” Sri Lankan Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa tweeted about the incident.
