Sabry: UNHRC FM or Gota’s lawyer?

Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam, a TNA MP, questioned Foreign Minister Ali Sabry’s role in Geneva.

“My question today is whether Minister Ali Sabry is representing Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council or Gotabaya Rajapaksa,” he told reporters.

Minister Sabry told the UNHRC that economic crimes had not been committed in Sri Lanka, but there is ample evidence to prove otherwise. Minister Ali Sabry is also responsible for these economic crimes because he was the Justice Minister who introduced the 20th Amendment to the Constitution and praised it.

“The 20th Amendment gave the President so much power that he destroyed the economy. “There have been economic crimes,” he said.

“We’ve depleted our dollar reserves.” Fertilizer prohibition costs farmers millions. Fuel shortages devastate the fishing sector. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Ali Sabry’s client, committed these economic crimes, he said.
