Vajira Abeywardena, the president of the United National Party, has been appointed to fill the vacant position of UNP National List Member Ranil Wickremesinghe in the parliament.
The relevant gazette notification has already been issued.
Earlier some sources said indicated that Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe’s cousin Ruwan Wijewardena will be appointed for that vacancy.
