Reverse course on Japan! political persecution of a Japanese firm! The president contacts Nimal Siripala to find out more!

The Japanese firm “Thaisei,” which is in charge of the development of Katunayaka Airport, has complained to the Japanese embassy, stating Minister Nimal Siripla de Silva has been politically persecuting it.

In response, the Japanese Embassy has initiated action to complain to the President.

After learning of this allegation, the president called Minister NImal Siripala de Silva, questioned him about it, and warned him not to block the Japanese company’s work.

This is not the first time that the current leadership has had a disagreement with Japan.
When Rajapaksa gained office, he made the unilateral decision to halt the monorail project, which led the Japanese government to offer aid to Sri Lanka.
