Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake has issued an extraordinary gazette announcement making several services essential services as per the instructions of the President.
Thus, all services related to electricity supply, petroleum products and fuel supply or distribution, and patient maintenance in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries, and other similar institutions have been made essential services.
