Public Utilities commission Chairman Janaka Rathnayake says the commission has declined to approve a request by Ceylon Electricity Board for longer power cuts starting from Thursday.
“PUCSL declined to approve CEB’s request for longer power cuts (2 hours & 20 minutes ) starting from tomorrow as CEB has not justified the extension of power cut with proper reasons . Hence, approval was given only to continue the prevailing schedule of 1 hr and 20 mts power cut” Janaka Ratnayake said.
