Motor Transport Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasinghe said this morning (30) that the English characters of the vehicle number plates will be removed from the 1st of January and accordingly the English characters will not be printed on the new number plates issued in the future.
Mr. Weerasinghe further mentioned that there will be a fee for new registration and for changing the registration of vehicles with existing number plates must be paid.
