Petroleum bill to Parliament today! Employees on sick leave in protest! service disrupters will be sued – Minister! (VIDEO)

Electricity and Energy Minister Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera says that legal and disciplinary measures will be taken if any employee or trade union disrupts the services.

The minister posted a note on his Twitter account and mentioned that the petroleum service has been declared an essential service in the last 6 months.

Meanwhile, the debate on the second reading of the Petroleum Products Special Provisions Amendment Bill will be held today (18) in Parliament.

Petroleum union representatives say that oil company employees at Kolonnawa, Sapugaskanda and Muthurajawela fuel distribution centers will report sick today in protest against this bill.
