The pilot project of issuing fuel via QR codes at five locations has not been implemented.
Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera stated in a tweet that the reasons for not implementing the QR code system were non-delivery of orders, delays in order delivery, and delays in delivery.
According to the minister, the pilot project to sell fuel with QR codes will begin in these five locations within the next two days.
According to Minister Wijesekara, the pilot project to sell fuel using the QR system has already been completed successfully at 20 locations across the island.
The QR system has fueled a total of 4,708 vehicles.
Meanwhile, 3,523,729 people have registered to use the QR code system to obtain fuel.
