On the 3rd a critical IMF meeting! Sagala launches debt restructuring discussions!

On November 3, there will be yet another key meeting between Sri Lanka’s creditors and the International Monetary Fund.

There will be much discussion about debt restructuring in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, the President’s Senior National Security Advisor and Chief of Staff, Sarwat Jahan, the new Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund for Sri Lanka, and Tubugas Feridhanusetyawan, the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund who is leaving Sri Lanka at the end of his term. This was discussed during yesterday’s (February 27) Tubagus Feridhanusetyawan, which was held in the afternoon in the President’s office.


Measures for debt restructuring and the creditors’ conference received special attention.

The IMF delegates were informed by Mr. Sagala Ratnayake that he planned to discuss the topics covered in this meeting with President Ranil Wickramasinghe and would soon advise them of the President’s response.
R.H.S. Mr. Samaratunga, the president’s senior economic advisor, took part in the conversation as well.
