Mr. Basil Rajapaksa came to Sri Dalada Maligava in Kandy this morning (24) and worshiped the Dalada.
It is to get blessings to start the election activities of his party.
Mr. Basil Rajapaksa who commented there,
“We started today. First worship Sri Dantha Dhatu.”

“Not everywhere. In many places, they ask for it separately. We are directly competing with 252 local governments under the Pohottuwa. There are several more in different symbols. Jaffna with harp, Batticaloa with boat. Competing with horseback, competing in tea leaves. There are 340 in all.”
Question – The bud is a popular symbol among the people. But they are doing this because they cannot go among the people. ?

“Ask the government… I am not in the government… Many people were waiting for the nomination period.”
