Negotiations with creditors failed ! IMF’s loan assistance will be delayed until March next year.

It is reported that the loan assistance to be provided by the International Monetary Fund will be delayed until March next year as the negotiations held with Sri Lanka’s creditors have not been successful.

This is because the next meeting of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund is scheduled to be held in March 2023.

By that time, the debt restructuring negotiations with the Sri Lankan creditors should have been successful and their progress should be informed and their approval should be obtained.

If not, it is reported that these discussions will be delayed further.
