Puttalam District Member of Parliament Mr. Ali Sabri Rahim, who was arrested by the customs on charges of illegal possession of gold, spoke to the media for the first time after the incident.
That was after the Chairman of the Public Utility Commission Mr. Janaka Ratnayake removal debate , Ali Sabri Rahim participated in the vote held in Parliament today(24) regarding removal of Janaka Ratnaya from that position.
Speaking further, Member of Parliament Mr. Ali Sabri Rahim said that he voted against the motion brought regarding the removal of Mr. Janaka Ratnayake due to the fact that the President or the Prime Minister did not provide any support when he was in trouble.
Also, Member of Parliament Mr. Ali Sabri Rahim said that the stock of gold in question is not his own but belongs to his friend.
